Lavassa.com highlights the fine art furniture designs of artist Peter Harrison. Our goal in creating this site was to create on online brochure for The Lavassa Line which would present the work in a way consistant with the aesthetics of the furniture while not distracting from the photographs.
RHDInt.com showcases the work of RHD Interior Design, a company based in New York City whose specialty is design for the health care market. Building this site involved digitizing an existing logo. I built a custom font to animate the logo in the Flash intro. My primary goal was to highlight the beautiful photography of their work without imposing my own aesthetics more than necessary. Maintaining the precise look of the layout across browser environments was a key concern.
Campdenali.com serves as an online brochure for four wilderness resort locations in Alaska. We had a tremendous wealth of photographs to work with and built the site to showcase as many as possible. The navigation is designed to lead to potential guest through a deliberate sequence as they learn about the possibilities for their trip. The rustic look of the site is meant to convey the feel of their pre-existing print materials.
Torey.com is a site I built for myself to represent my songwriting and performance projects. It's design includes a Flash intro which becomes part of the home page, a custom blog, and a calendar which is driven by data exports from Apple's iCal application. A mailing list handler is integrated into the design. The site also includes extensive audio archives and a printable press kit.
229parks.com was designed for one of the most remote restaurants in the country. Located near the entrance to Denali National Park, at mile 229 of the Parks Highway, 229 Parks is a unique restaurant serving much more sophisticated food than one would expect in so rugged a locale. We worked to create a simple site that communicated the elegance of the restaurant and featured sample menus as well as a user-updatable schedule page.
Rickzar.com represents the work of 12-string guitar virtuoso Rick Zar. It features a curved navigation bar and custom calendar and blog applications. It also features music from his record 'Mestizo' which was recorded and produced in our studio.
Kestreleducation.org represents Kestrel Educational Adventures, a rapidly growing non-profit in Massachusetts which provides wilderness education programs for elementary and high school students. The site includes extensive use of Flash to create an intuitive navigation experience. Designing their logo was a special challenge. Because the intended audience includes wildlife professionals, it was important that the stylized hawk still be clearly recognizable as a Kestrel.
Highrocklearning.org is an online brochure for a small, personalized tutoring company which provides after school and home-school educational programming. I designed the logo and the vivid color scheme to create an organic, 'low-tech' look. Within the constraints of the computer screen I tried to make something that conveyed the looseness of a watercolor painting. The site features web-based user content management on certain pages.
